Welcome to My World
Who is Tabitha Clarke ?
My name is Tabitha Clarke. I am the youngest of three children (girls) to parents who have been married for forty-five years. I believe knowing my background will help people understand, why I am so passionate about education and working in title one schools. I grew up in South Dallas. That area is considered as a lower socio-economic area, but I call it home.
I saw my friends become addicted to drugs, drop out of school, and become teenage mothers. I am a product of my environment but not in the negative sense. My environment did not tear me apart. It helped me to become a strong-willed, driven woman who knows what she wants. A Peek Into My World |
I have an amazing husband who has supported me with every step that I took during this program. He proofread my papers, bought me the latest technology, and most importantly kept me in his prayers. At times, I wanted to quit but he would not allow me to do so. The kind of support that he provided could only come from God and a person who truly saw the greatness in me, even when my vision was blurry due to exhaustion.
We have an adorable German Rottweiler, Justice who is ten years old. Justice is our “child” and kept me calm when my husband needed a break. I enjoy cuddling with him, spending time with my family, going to church, singing, dancing, going to the library, and getting lost in a book. I was blessed to have amazing teachers and I pray that one day, if not already, I have been just that to my students.

Friends and Family
Words cannot express how grateful I am to have friends and family. Thank you all for being there for me. Thank you for emailing me when I posted something on social media, expressing that I was about to give up and you refused to accept my defeat. In fact, you yelled at me in the only way that you could do, but it was the kick that I needed to get my head back in the game (Melissa Ghionis), sending me random gifts in the mail or saying our favorite quote just to put a smile on my face (Dalisa Cooper), calling me to hear my voice when I received bad news, although I told you that I was ok via text (Liz Henry), helping me to stay physically fit and listening to me vent (Marco Henry), making me laugh until my belly hurts and then I would laugh some more for no reason, just by looking in your direction (Jerry Ghionis), and for always understanding what it means to "walk" in my shoes and being my dance partner, even if the music does not have the same beat (John Michael Cooper).
To Ashuntia and Naaman, I do not know how our family ever made it without your family. I appreciate the Family Dinners, Bible Studies, long and in-depth conversations about the Bible, and the fellowship. I am so grateful to have each of you and for sharing your amazing boys with us. Hilton Jackson and Donya Jenkins, I love the calmness that you bring to our lives and wisdom. At times, it was hard for me to trust God but your faithfulness and leadership guided me through that process.
Aletha and Raymond Miller, you guys were in my wedding. You truly took the oath seriously from our wedding day and have been there for us. Aletha, thank you for reading papers, being one of my biggest supporters, and giving me my Annual Birthday song. It is an honor that I am able to call your children my Godchildren.
Kokila, Claudia, Jennifer are the best childhood friends and college roommates one could have ever hoped for. Thank you for taking my laptop away and making me get up and dance just for no reason. Your continued love and support will forever be appreciated.
To my sister, Felicia. We experienced one of the worst losses in life nine years ago. We lost our sister, "Mimi". We may not have the deepest connection of most siblings but I know we share one common thing, WE ARE FAMILY. That statement speak volumes to my heart and I know you know what that means. No matter how infrequently we see each other, I know that you will support me the best way that you know how. You are a great big sister and I love you.
I could not forget about Mimi (sister). You were an amazing person and I hurt whenever I think about not being able to hear your laugh or see your smile. I have been blessed with my friends and I know you orchestrated a way in Heaven for me to meet them. You taught me how to dance by allowing to stand on top of your feet, helped me to find my real laugh, made me the best pancakes, helped me to embrace my flaws, taught me to sing the song that is true to my heart, and most importantly pick the kind of day that I wanted to have. For those life long lessons, I will forever be grateful. You went home to be with the Lord and left a huge hole in my heart, but I am not as lonely as I used to be. Thank you for sending me Shun, Naaman, Hilton, Donya, John, Dalisa, Marco, Liz, Jerry, and Melissa. I will always love you, "Charmed".
